Efficacy

Efficacy of Melatonin

Melatonin sleep aid has been clinically studied and proven to be effective against sleep disorder symptoms such as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), insomnia, jet lag, imbalanced sleep-wake cycles, and other various other health discomforts, including migraine, depression, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and menopause.

Melatonin Sleep Aid Studies Conducted with Positive Results

Studies have shown that time-release melatonin—a formula that closely resembles the body’s natural melatonin—can significantly improve sleep for individuals who suffer from insomnia, specifically those who are 55 years and older(1). However, it is suggested that melatonin may help adult men and women of all ages.

In another study(2) that was conducted by sleep researchers, 354 male and female insomnia patients (ages 55 and older) were given time-release melatonin. The study concluded with substantial, positive results:

  • Improvement in sleep quality
  • Increased alertness in the morning
  • Transition from awake to sleep much faster
  • Overall enhancement of health and well-being
